In the last Autumnwatch Unsprung of the 2010 series, Kate advised people to avoid eating monkfish. We have subsequently heard that the monkfish situation is more complex than this and we wanted to put the record straight with what's going on.

Can an 'invasive' species ever be a good thing? Can a non-native species ever become naturalised? Or for that matter, is there any clear way of defining what's invasive and what isn't?

Well that's all folks! I hope you've enjoyed our eight-week journey through autumn. The final show heralded winter's arrival and showcased some of the wildlife to look out for over the coming weeks and months. Chris managed to achieve a first for both him and the series by getting his hands on one of the last migrants of the season - a woodcock.

The weather’s turned and it’s been getting decidedly frostier in the Autumnwatch Flickr group as the snaps of snow and ice flutter in.

Over 34,000 pictures have been added to the Autumnwatch group this year. Today we started the BBC Winterwatch group in which you can share your winter wildlife pics from December to February inclusive.

As we move groups we wanted to celebrate the shift from autumn to winter by showcasing some of your very best shots from the turn of the season.

If you’ve got berries left on your bushes keep an eye out for hungry visitors. We like the way the colours of this fieldfare are mirrored in the background.
